Yin Yoga is a deep stretch class with a mindful, contemplative focus. It is quieter, introspective and meditative, consisting of floor based (hatha) poses held for a longer duration, about 3-4 minutes each pose. Yin Yoga is considered the female/inner yoga as it targets the inner connective tissues to stretch and strengthen them slowly and methodically. Hatha Yoga is the yang (male) yoga focusing on strengthening the muscles (outer).
